Tara Communications Receives Award for
West Deptford Website
Turnersville, NJ (December 1, 2006) – Tara Communications LLC, a Washington Township-based public relations firm, received the prestigious Pepperpot Award yesterday from the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. This is the fourth time in five years that Tara Communications has been honored with an award from PRSA’s Philadelphia chapter.
Tara Communications received yesterday’s award for its work in creating the West Deptford Township website. The honors were presented at the association’s 38th Annual Pepperpot and Achievement Awards held at the Ben Franklin House in Philadelphia. The firm garnered a similar award last fall for its work on behalf of the City of Woodbury (www.woodbury.nj.us).
“Our goal in developing municipal websites is to make it quick and easy for people to find the information they want, learn what’s happening in their community and interact with municipal staff,” said Rick Alcantara, founder and principal of Tara Communications.
The West Deptford website (www.westdeptford.com) features colorful images of community businesses, residences and cultural assets. It contains timely news, easy access to forms and services, interactive event calendar and lots of information about recreation in the community.
Tara Communications has recently built sites for the Gloucester County Stormwater Management Program (www.gcstormwater.com), ABCO Federal Credit Union (www.goabco.org) and the Credit Union Insurance Services Group (www.cuisg.com). It is currently developing sites for Pennsauken Township, Pennsauken Free Municipal Library, ZONE Telecom, and Cooper Levenson.
The Philadelphia Chapter of PRSA presents the Pepperpot Awards annually to the Philadelphia region’s top public relations programs, campaigns and events. Award entries are judged by another chapter of PRSA.
